Gene: CXXC5
Alternate names for this Gene: CF5|HSPC195|RINF|WID
Gene Summary: The protein encoded by this gene is a retinoid-inducible nuclear protein containing a CXXC-type zinc finger motif. The encoded protein is involved in myelopoiesis, is required for DNA damage-induced p53 activation, regulates the differentiation of C2C12 myoblasts into myocytes, and negatively regulates cutaneous wound healing. Several transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
Gene is located in Chromosome: 5
Location in Chromosome : 5q31.2
Description of this Gene: CXXC finger protein 5
Type of Gene: protein-coding
