Gene: GPANK1

Alternate names for this Gene: ANKRD59|BAT4|D6S54E|G5|GPATCH10

Gene Summary: This gene is located in a cluster of HLA-B-associated transcripts, which is included in the human major histocompatability complex III region. This gene encodes a protein which is thought to play a role in immunity. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.

Gene is located in Chromosome: 6

Location in Chromosome : 6p21.33

Description of this Gene: G-patch domain and ankyrin repeats 1

Type of Gene: protein-coding

Gene: CSNK2B

Alternate names for this Gene: CK2B|CK2N|CSK2B|Ckb1|Ckb2|G5A|POBINDS

Gene Summary: This gene encodes the beta subunit of casein kinase II, a ubiquitous protein kinase which regulates metabolic pathways, signal transduction, transcription, translation, and replication. The enzyme is composed of three subunits, alpha, alpha prime and beta, which form a tetrameric holoenzyme. The alpha and alpha prime subunits are catalytic, while the beta subunit serves regulatory functions. The enzyme localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi apparatus. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
