Gene: PELO

Alternate names for this Gene: CGI-17|PRO1770

Gene Summary: This gene encodes a protein which contains a conserved nuclear localization signal. The encoded protein may have a role in spermatogenesis, cell cycle control, and in meiotic cell division.

Gene is located in Chromosome: 5

Location in Chromosome : 5q11.2

Description of this Gene: pelota mRNA surveillance and ribosome rescue factor

Type of Gene: protein-coding

Gene: ITGA1

Alternate names for this Gene: CD49a|VLA1

Gene Summary: This gene encodes the alpha 1 subunit of integrin receptors. This protein heterodimerizes with the beta 1 subunit to form a cell-surface receptor for collagen and laminin. The heterodimeric receptor is involved in cell-cell adhesion and may play a role in inflammation and fibrosis. The alpha 1 subunit contains an inserted (I) von Willebrand factor type I domain which is thought to be involved in collagen binding.

Gene is located in Chromosome: 5

Location in Chromosome : 5q11.2

Description of this Gene: integrin subunit alpha 1

Type of Gene: protein-coding
