Gene: RANBP17
Alternate names for this Gene: -
Gene Summary: The transport of protein and large RNAs through the nuclear pore complexes (NPC) is an energy-dependent and regulated process. The import of proteins with a nuclear localization signal (NLS) is accomplished by recognition of one or more clusters of basic amino acids by the importin-alpha/beta complex; see MIM 600685 and MIM 602738. The small GTPase RAN (MIM 601179) plays a key role in NLS-dependent protein import. RAN-binding protein-17 is a member of the importin-beta superfamily of nuclear transport receptors.[supplied by OMIM, Jul 2002]. Sequence Note: This RefSeq record was created from transcript and genomic sequence data to make the sequence consistent with the reference genome assembly. The genomic coordinates used for the transcript record were based on transcript alignments. ##Evidence-Data-START## Transcript exon combination :: AJ271459.1, AF222747.1 [ECO:0000332] RNAseq introns :: single sample supports all introns SAMEA1968968, SAMEA2142853 [ECO:0000348] ##Evidence-Data-END## ##RefSeq-Attributes-START## MANE Ensembl match :: ENST00000523189.6/ ENSP00000427975.1 RefSeq Select criteria :: based on conservation, expression ##RefSeq-Attributes-END##
